These words were taken from a recent post on the Ford Day Blackpool Facebook page from David and Gareth, Dave’s sons, regarding his passing earlier this month.
Hi all, just want to introduce myself.
I’m David, Dave’s son, Dave had two sons, myself and Gareth.
For all that don’t know, Dave is the man who started Ford Day Blackpool many years ago and he built it from just a few cars to what it is now.
He used his passion and love for Fords to create an event where all Ford lovers and families were welcome to come and have an amazing day out and to show off their pride and joy to other car lovers from near and far.
Unfortunately it is with great sadness to inform everyone that Dave passed away just a few days ago at his home in Preston.
Ford Day will still go ahead in September as a remembrance to Dave but please be patient with us whilst we sort everything that needs to be sorted for the event to go ahead.
Dave’s funeral will take place at Preston Crematorium (postcode PR2 5BY) at 12:45 on the 25th of April, everyone is welcome to join us and to come and say a final goodbye, all those wishing to follow his funeral car please meet at my house (postcode PR5 6NB) at 11:45, the more Fords the better please as we all know he loved his cars, the service will take approximately 45 minutes followed by the wake which will be held at Bamber Bridge County & Catholic Club (postcode PR5 6TA).
Thank you to everyone for your comments and kind messages of condolence.
David & Gareth.
